The Seengla School operates under the wing of the Social Work and Research Centre of Barefoot College in Tilonia, Rajasthan. The school works to on an alternative pedagogy, placing students on the path of acclerated learning. The objective of this program is to ensure that all students pass the Grade 5 Examinations, and can enter the government schooling system. The students of this school are children of villagers. The importance of Seengla lies in the school’s ability to educate these children and provide them with the necessary skills to operate in main-stream education.

These photographs are from from my short stint at the Seengla School. I spent two days photographing and interacting with both the students and the teachers, to get an insight into the structure of such a vital institution.
